Flex Boogie
Making your way through the dirt roads in the remote North West Province village back in 1982 you would have never imagined a place like Madidi would birth one of the most astounding lyricists in South Africa right now. Raised by two hard working baTswana parents, Hakeem Flex Boogie was always destined to be a lyricist following in the footsteps of his drummer father who led a soul band in the 80’s.
Looking to break barriers and shake stereotypes by switching back and forth between South African vernacular and English lyrics with a jaw-dropping effect, in his words his ultimate mission is the changing of how people perceive Hip Hop, namely as a medium that can change society. For the better.
